Useful Links

For information on pain charities that can help you, please look at the ‘pain charities’ link under the Chronic Pain tab. this page is more for sites which make day-to-day life useful – online support sites, canes & other tools, and of course the fun stuff. distraction and things

for general cheering up & sick humour, visit: But You Dont Look Sick -  i would especially recommend checking out their Spoon Theory, and i  love their tshirts, available through cafepress HERE  the sick humour is hillarious, and priceless, and their ‘letter to loved ones’ is also a good read.

Chronic Babes – this sight is a brilliant testament to ‘babes’ (& ‘dudes’) who refuse to let their illnesses define them or restrict the amount of joy they’ll squeeze from life. Theres a forum, so you can surround yourself with others who think the same way, ask your fellow Chronicbabes advice & share your thoughts.

Get the giftbasket too – a monthly webzine about the things currrently at the top of Editrix Jenni’s list of favourite sites. The perfect mix of serious news and fun new shinies, it cheers me up whenever it arrives.

    Hi there
I am the coordinator for a CFS/ME/Fibromyalgia support group for parents and young people in Wellington. My daughter is 14 and has both conditions – with chronic pain being the primary issue.
Our group is small, and we’re looking for new members so ifyou could please post the link to our parent group website on your Links page that would be great.

Thanks & please contact me via email if you need more info.
You have done a great job on this website – shame I only found out about it this week but I am hoping my daughter will submit one of her pics before end of Sept.
    Cheers

    There is also http://www.thepainclinic.co.nz/paininfo.html
which is a private clinic specialising in the dealing/coping with chronic pain.

Or TARPS, which is through the public system. They are a Wonderful group of people who have literally changed my life. My pain has not gone away but I’ve learned so many strategies for dealing with pain.
