New Zealand Pain Society – this site is mainly aimed at pain professionals, but they also support pain sufferers with management and information. I haven’t dealt with them myself yet, so i’m not sure exactly how – if you’ve worked with them or have any further information, please let me know.
TARPS - otherwise known as The Auckland Regional Pain Service; TARPS is the main centre for pain management in the north island. they have a team of physios, psychologist and doctors on board who combine to decide the best treatment and management programme to get chronic pain sufferers on their feet again. The waiting list is long as the demand is so high, and the few staff are working as hard as they can to meet that demand.
ANZMES or the Associated New Zealand Myalgic Encephalopathy Society, ANZMES is a source of information and support for those with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Myalgic Encephalopathy; and also works towards more knowledge of how to treat the condition through research projects and grants.
The Lupus Trust of New Zealand - provides education on Lupus and support for those with Lupus and their families
Arthritis Foundation of New Zealand - an organisation with branches nationwide providing ongoing support and up-to-date information for Arthritics and those close to them
Canteen – supporting young people with cancer, this group provides information and support for teenagers with cancer, friends and families, member events, donations and how to help.
Endometriosis Foundation - An organisation which spreads awareness and provides information about Endometriosis, and gives support to those who have it and their families.Endometriosis NZ seeks to provide pragmatic solutions to the burdens that endometriosis creates.
Migraine Support NZ – Providing information on treatments and support for migraine sufferers.
