About the Piece: I feel this painting evokes the sense of powerlessness and thwarted potential often felt by people living with chronic pain. The strong Venus de Willendorf reduced to the Kewpie. It also evokes numbing drug therapy and feelings of isolation and depression whilst putting on a pleasant front in order to be socially acceptable.
About the Artist: I have been painting for a couple of years now and am self taught. My son has lived with chronic pain for thirteen years since he was 11.
