Ryan van Heerden

So soft, hewn from white walled flowers, in fields of melted red,

Seeded sensations echo constant reminders, red never seeps through, white walls stretched contrast against the scorching wind.

Petals stand on pins sinking slow roots to every fibre, straining them unmoving in their spot, flexing against a multitude of nailed restraints.

White. Parched mouth and skin, dried in caustic heat and sweat, each petal, each flower still opens, sweet white beauty in a melting field of red.

Artist: Ryan van Heerden

Title of Piece: Un-named

About the Piece: Inspired by sensations.. both felt and described

About the Artist: Artistically, I am a poet and photographer. I have been writing for many years, and have managed to have some work published internationally. I have been doing portrait and artistic photography for a few years, and am building to the point where I am exhibiting more, and trying to get some exposure.

Pain: the medical condition I have is more itch than pain, but can progress to the point of pain on occasion. I have had it all my life, and meeting and being befriended by Nix has provided me with a true appreciation of the strength required to deal with something far more consuming and restrictive on the ability to function.
