Title of Piece: ‘Corseting Coffin Back Pack’

About the Piece: The representation of my genuine leather coffin back pack is that the coffin resembles how some times the pain can make ya feel like death at times. The corseting effect ties on the front indicate how the pain is tied to me and the bag being a back pack indicates how the pain rides around with me, and how I wish to take it off just like taking the bag off. The studs going up the strap show how the level of pain can climb. The black of the bag is also tells of how dark and grim life can get with constant pain, but the purple colour of the corseting ties shows that there is light at the end of tunnel.

About the Artist: I sew and I make things. They help keep me sane and when I’m able to sew, it’s a great distraction from pain – it takes the thinking about it away.
