Kat McBeath – unnamed
Artist: Kat McBeath
Title of Piece: Unnamed
About the Piece: In order to explain this image to you, I would have to able to read my own subconscious.
What I do know is that her name is Anna. She appears to be focussing on feeling safe, and on counting the days till she is free. I think she is hospitalized and/or recovering from surgery. Her enclosure appears to be fictional and the sky is always blue outside.
About the Artist: I have painted since childhood, and have done exhibitions in cafes from time to time. I have recently discovered charcoal, and am enjoying doing black, red and white portraits. I have had about 20 hours of art lessons all up, after doing 3rd form art at school. I didn’t paint seriously till I had neurosurgery in 2006.
My pain is mostly fatigue related, and headaches. I developed cluster headaches after the last surgery, ['suicide headaches'] but they have since alleviated.
